What I’m Listening to Now: Jessy Lanza

Jessy Lanza – Pull My Hair Back

Every once in a while, there is an artist that gets popular based on word of blog. Jessy is one of those artists. She has a beautiful yet simple voice. It doesn’t razzle and dazzle you like Mariah’s, or over emotes like Christina’s. It is beautiful just as is. Throw in a mix of electronica, pop, synth, and dane beats you have one dynamite album. This voice is what Ellie Goulding SHOULD sound like. And unfortunately, Ellie has the career Jessy SHOULD have. Jessy’s voice is soft and she is soothing to my ears, especially after a hard day’s work. I really hope she releases more albums, because she’s a keeper. It only has nine songs on it, but man, it packs a wallop. I just wish I had come to listen to her sooner. I’ll be sure to leave that rock I live under every so often.
